Three ‘sexually assaulted’ in city

Accused allegedly lured victims on pretext of job offer

Three persons including two women and a teenage boy were allegedly sexually assaulted in the city on Friday. Police said that the accused had allegedly lured the victims on the pretext of a job. Police registered cases and started raids to arrest the culprits. In the first sexual assault incident, the complainant, a resident of Chak No 214, Rab Dhadiwala, told the police that she financially supported her children by working in other people's homes as domestic help. During her work she met the accused Abdul Karim, Sardar Ahmed Bhatti Javed Dahlon, Rana Javed and Adnan alias Mani in Jalvi Market. They lured her by offering her a job and decent salary in a private school as well as free accommodation. The complainant stated that the owner of the school, who was at a fish farm, had to interview her. The accused allegedly took her to the fish farm where they kept her in a room. Meanwhile, the accused Abdul Karim and Ahmed allegedly sexually assaulted her. The other accused Javed filmed the rape incident. Police registered a case against the accused under Sections 496A and 376 and started raids for their arrest. Separately, the accused Altaf Adnan sexually abused a woman, a resident of Bilal Town, Jaranwala Road, on the pretext of giving her a job. During this time, the accused Altaf was also making a video on which the police took action under Section 376. In another incident, the alleged rapist identified as Rizwan assaulted a 14-yearold boy, the son of Zulfiqar, in Siddique Nagar, Batala Colony. Incidents of sexual assault were rampant across the province. On July 25, two women lodged rape cases in the city. In the first incident, a resident of Chak No 203RB, Malikpur stated in a case registered at the women's police station that she had a dispute with her husband. She said the accused Wasim called her to Aminpur bazaar on the pretext of arranging reconciliation between the couple. The accused took her to a house where he raped her at gunpoint. On June 7, a seven-year-old boy, who was abducted on June 5 from D-Type Colony area, had been killed after being raped. The body was found by local residents after it was thrown in a canal in Dijkot area. On May 31, a teenage girl was gang-raped by five men after being abducted in Landianwala area. On April 17, police conducted raids to arrest three men nominated in a rape case by a woman in Kokianwala area. The woman told police that she was asked to collect ration from a room in the home of one of the accused, Rashid, near Jameel Park. She was molested repeatedly by the accused at the residence.
