Envoy stresses need for linkages between businessmen of two sides

Pakistan and Yemen have long-lasting brotherly relations, and bilateral trade and business ties should be further promoted with the exchange of trade delegations, said Ambassador of Yemen to Pakistan Muhammad Motahar Alashabi.

Speaking at a meeting with Pakistan’s exporters, the ambassador vowed to make efforts to boost trade ties between the two countries. He emphasised that the time was ripe to further strengthen mutual trade relations. He assured the exporters of all possible assistance in that regard and stressed the need for promotion of linkages between businessmen of both countries.

Speaking on the occasion, SCCI President Qaisar Iqbal Baryar said there was ample potential to increase the volume of trade, adding that Sialkot was an important economic hub and an export-oriented city.

He highlighted, “We produce sports goods, surgical instruments, leather products, gloves of all sorts, textile items, sportswear, martial arts uniforms and accessories, musical instruments, kitchen ware and table ware, hunting knives, table cutlery/ flatware, etc.”

Later, the Yemen ambassador visited the office of the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan. He discussed matters of mutual interest with the manufacturers and exporters.

The envoy also visited several leading industrial units and witnessed the craftsmanship of artisans. He expressed keen interest in the production of sports goods and surgical instruments.
