RAWALPINDI:

Two special aircraft travelling from Doha to Kabul landed at the Islamabad International Airport due to inclement weather on Tuesday.

Sources said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) shifted five Afghan diplomats, and 12 officials onboard the aircraft to the international lounge.

After information of the landing, Afghan diplomat in Pakistan reached the Islamabad airport and requested the FIA to shift all the travellers to the Afghanistan embassy. The request was however, declined by the competent authorities concerned.

Separately, in a matter of moments, a special UN aircraft travelling from Doha to Kabul with two important UN members onboard also landed at the Islamabad International Airport due to inclement weather.

The FIA shifted both the travellers to the international departure lounge. With improvement in the weather, the aircraft would depart for Kabul, the sources said. Meanwhile, travellers would have to wait at the airport, they added.
