The Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) plans to earn Rs17.6 million from award of contracts for running parking lots at three points of the city and public bathrooms at Pirwadhai general bus stand through an open auction.

In a bid to generate revenue, RMC has decided to conduct the annual auction of Pirwadhai Bus Stand and parking rights at various locations.

As per RMC Chief Officer Imran Safdar, the reserved bid for the contract for the right to collect parking fee from public transport at Pirwadhai bus stand was Rs10.8 million.

Another source of income for the metropolitan corporation is the collection of fee from people to let them use public toilets at the Pirwadhai Bus Stand.

The opening bid for the toilet fee collection contract is Rs4.5 million, he said, adding that the contract for collecting parking fee on College Road, Commercial Market and in RMC's old office would be awarded over Rs2.3 million.
