LDA demolishes five illegal buildings

Seals 307 others during an operation against illegal land use conversion and violation of regulations

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) officials demolished five buildings and sealed 307 others during an operation against illegal land use conversion and violation of regulations on Sunday.

The authority took action against illegal commercial use of residential plots and violation of building regulations at Samsani Road, Johar Town, Kacha Jail Road and Ferozepur Road.

More than 300 shops, workshops and other commercial entities were sealed during the operation against illegally constructed shops on residential plots at Samsani Road, Johar Town.

Five under-construction commercial structures, which were being built without getting approval of the building plan from the LDA, were also demolished.

Action was also been taken at Kacha Jail Road and Ferozepur Road where three plazas and four shops were sealed.

A sweetmeat shop on Kacha Jail Road and a supermarket on Ferozepur Road were sealed due to illegal commercial use of land. Another plaza on Ferozepur Road was sealed for violating the approved building plan and relevant building regulations.
