Pollution spikes to alarming level in Faisalabad

Deadly air pollution threatened to choke Faisalabad as the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the city reached a dismal level of 558, surpassing that of Lahore by over 100 points on Saturday.

The 10 most polluted cities of the country included eight major cities of Punjab.

Faisalabad topped the list and Lahore was second, followed closely by Muridke with 405 AQI. Other affected cities included Multan with 385 AQI, Gujranwala 366, Raiwind 340 and Rawalpindi 143.
