Five factories, three tyre burning units sealed

MULTAN:

The environment department on Wednesday sealed five factories and three tyre burning plants for supplementing smog in the industrial estate area.

The teams also sealed one battery unit and registered cases against 74 industrial units found guilty of augmenting air pollution.

Meanwhile, the agriculture department also lodged 12 cases against farmers for burning crop residue.

As many as 24 cases were registered against traditional brick kilns owners for defying operation ban. In a bid to minimize air pollution in the district, Multan Waste Management Company has also been authorized to impose fines for incinerating urban waste.
