Is mint green the new 'it' colour? Five ways to nail it this wedding season

KARACHI:

The winter wedding season is officially here! Albeit, just a tad less festive. As the world preps for another era of marriages amid a pandemic, fashion trends are taking a new turn as well. In 2019, we saw many brides ditching the traditional red and
opting for rather subtle hues for their big days.

Colours such as silvers, peaches, golds and lilacs made it to the runways and homes of many a new bride. This year - like
the last one - the pastels were the 'it' colours, but with one prominent addition: the mint green. It was an obvious choice for all occasions - from nikkah to reception. Taking inspiration from the likes of Sonya Hussyn, Ayeza Khan, Saba Qamar, Iqra Aziz and Mahira Khan, here's how you can work a mint green ensemble for every event!

Ayeza Khan for ‘nikkah’

Keeping it traditional yet fresh, Ayeza Khan's mint green pishwaas and lehenga by designer Ansab Jahangir's fits the bill for a perfect nikkah outfit. The embroided jora with gota work and kundan jewellery paired with a centrally parted bun ticks all the

right boxes.

Sonya Hussyn for ‘mayoun’

For a mayoun, Sonya Hussyn shows us how to mix it up with another colour. The actor's mint green and orange dress with hints of violet would make a stunning mayoun outfit. The Yasmin Jiwa lehenga choli looked gorgeous on the star as she opted for a side braid adorned with jewellery and soft makeup.

Mahira Khan for ‘mehendi’

The Verna actor looked her breathtaking self in this heavily embellished Mohsin Naveed Ranjha outfit. Paired with the heavy
necklace and a delicate headwear, Mahira nailed the brief for a mehendi bride.

Saba Qamar for ‘baraat’

Clad in an Aisha Imran ensemble, the Cheekh star looked like a dream! With her hair neatly styled and stunning jewels, Saba's
look could be stolen for a baraat if you want to ditch the traditional red!

Iqra Aziz for ‘valima’

The Suno Chanda actor’s figure-hugging Zubia Zainab dress seemed like a great option for a wedding reception. With minimal makeup and a sleek ponytail, Iqra let the dress do the talking! The actor's ensemble would also make a great choice for a day function.
