Packed agenda for CCI meeting tomorrow

The meeting will review the implementation of the decisions taken during the last CCI meeting

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) on Wednesday (tomorrow), which will be attended by all the four chief ministers and the relevant federal ministers.

The meeting will review the implementation of the decisions taken during the last CCI meeting. It is also expected to take the decision regarding release of the census 2017 results and the import of the liquified natural gas (LNG). It will also consider giving no-objection certificate (NOC) to the CJ Hydro.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) report 2018-19 will also be presented in the meeting, while the decision to amend the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) Ordinance will be reviewed.

Other agenda items for consideration include transfer of control of lower portion of the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) to Punjab, illegal deductions from the Provincial Consolidated Fund by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the attorney general's recommendations on the Water Accord 1991.

Matters related to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) after the 18th Amendment will also be discussed in the meeting, while the participants will receive briefing on the domestic industries.
