Four youths were killed and two others were injured in separate traffic accidents on Sammundri Road and Jaranwala Road on Sunday.
The injured victims were shifted to a hospital after medical aid.
Police said the driver of a speeding truck on Jaranwala Road bypass hit 18-year-old Qurban, son of Allah Rakha and 25-year-old Faisal, son of Sharif, while they were riding a motorcycle. Both victims were being shifted to a hospital in critical condition. However, Qurban eventually succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Separately, a speeding truck heading towards Jhang Road from Sammundri Road, Roshanwala Bypass hit 18-year-old Imran, his 21-year-old brother Rizwan, son of Ashraf, and his friend 19-year-old Nadeem, while they were riding a motorcycle.
As a result of the vehicle collision, all three were critically injured and were rushed to Civil Hospital by Rescue 1122 personnel where Nadeem and Rizwan succumbed to their injuries.
Saddar police took both the bodies into their custody and started the investigation.
Moreover, 32-year-old Shahid, a resident of Chak No 217GB, was killed on the spot after being seriously injured in a bus collision near Jaranwala Road 209 gate.
Police took the bodies of the four deceased youths and started searching for the drivers involved in the accident.
Incidents of vehicle collisions leading to deaths were rampant across the province.
On October 5, a lawyer, his wife, son and mother-in-law were killed and two sons were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars.
Advocate Mian Tawfiqur Rehman, a resident of Sammundri, was going to his hometown from Faisalabad along with his family when his car collided with the vehicle coming from the opposite direction near Dijkot, Darbar Baba Riaz Shah.
The collision was so severe that both cars were severely damaged.
As a result, the lawyer, his eight-month-old son Kashan and mother-in-law Ghulam Fatima were killed on the spot as a result of the accident. His wife Shagufta died during treatment after she was taken to the Civil Hospital.
On September 29, at least six members of a family including two men, three women and a minor boy were killed in a road accident in Chichawatni.
The horrible collision between a trailer truck and a car occurred on Kamalia Road which claimed the lives of the six persons.
The family of Arifwala village was traveling to Mamu Kanjan to attend a funeral of their relative.
After crossing the River Ravi bridge, the car collided with a trailer truck coming from the opposite direction after its driver lost control. The car driver drove the car away from the road in an attempt to protect his vehicle, yet it got bumped after the truck overturned and hit the car.
On June 15, at least six members of a family going to attend a Valima ceremony were killed when a van caught fire after an accident on the motorway near Gojra.
