Asian Karate Anti-Doping seminar ends

The online Asian Karate Anti-Doping Seminar under the Asian Karate Federation and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) concluded in which 54 officials and coaches from different countries affiliated to the federation participated.

National Coach Shah Mohammad Shaan and Asian qualified referee and official Azmi Asghar represented Pakistan in the seminar after their names were approved by Pakistan Karate Federation Chairman Mohammad Jahangir.

The seminar was organized through the social networking application from Spain.

During the seminar, a member of the World Karate Federation's Olympic Planning Commission headquarters in Spain, Sara Wolf, briefed the participants on the aims and objectives of WADA as well as apprised them about various issues related to targets and anti-doping.

A question and answer session was also held in the seminar after the briefing in which Wolf and her assistant satisfied participants’ queries.

After the seminar Shan in a press conference said international seminars of the nature should be held frequently as they provided opportunities to learn.

“Athletes should never use prohibited drugs which are harmful to health and can be life-threatening,” suggested the national coach while talking to media.
