A man who had allegedly stabbed his maternal aunt to death in Shah Faisal Colony was arrested by police late on Friday night.

The suspect, Imran, had reportedly stabbed his aunt, Rukhsana, over a monetary dispute earlier the same day, fleeing from the scene immediately afterwards. Rukhsana sustained critical injuries and succumbed to her wounds while receiving treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

The investigation police later apprehended Imran. According to the police, Imran confessed in his initial statement that he had attacked Rukhsana because she had refused to lend him money to start a business. Further investigation is underway.
