Over 500 fresh Covid-19 cases reported in Sindh

Coronavirus claims six more lives

As many as 521 more persons have tested positive for Covid-19 in Sindh, while six more succumbed to the disease, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday.

He said that following these developments, the province's infection tally had risen to 147,295 and Covid-19 death toll to 2,693.

Of the newly reported cases, the CM added, 379 were detected in Karachi, 28 in Hyderabad, 11 in Qambar-Shahdadkot, eight in Jamshoro, six in Umerkot, seven each in Ghotki, Mirpurkhas and Sujawal, five each in Shikarpur and Jacobabad, four each in Sukkur and Tamdo Allahyar, three in Badin, two each in Naushero Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad and Thatta and one each in Khairpur and Larkana.

Expressing worry over the persistent rise in Covid-19 cases, the CM said everyone must take precaution while stepping outside and meeting people.

Besides, he said 302 Covid-19 patients had regained health in the province, raising the total number of recovered persons in Sindh to 139,276.

This leaves 5,380 actives cases in Sindh, he said, adding that of them, 5,092 were in home isolation, two in isolation centres and 286 in hospital. Among them, 191 patients, including 27 on ventilators, are critically ill, he said.
