Tribune Fact Check: Modi touches woman's foot with his chin?

Photo of Indian premier doing yoga in 2015 has been edited to include the foot of the woman

An image purportedly showing Indian Prime Minister putting his chin on the foot of a woman has been shared thousands of times on social media. The Express Tribune found the claim to be false as the photo has been doctored by adding the woman's body part.

The original image shows Modi doing yoga back in 2015. The photo was first published on Facebook on July 6 and was shared more than more than a 100,000 times.

The caption, which is in Urdu reads,"Anyone who will not share this will not be a Muslim". The very same image had also been shared alongside similar caption on Facebook here.

A reverse image search found the image was made from a image of the Indian premier practicing yoga while participating in a session to mark International Yoga Day back in 2015. Images of the Indian prime minister doing yoga in the same clothes seen in the manipulated image were published by Indian media, for example here, here, here and here.

While footage of the session had also been published on Modi’s official YouTube channel here. At no point does Modi touch a woman’s foot with his chin in the video.
