Following the deadly madrassa bombing in Peshawar, the provincial chief executive has directed the police to enhance security and improve intelligence system for foiling terrorists’ attacks in the province.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood issued these directives as he presided over a high-level meeting to review the security situation in the province.
The meeting was briefed about the current security situation in the province and security arrangements to avoid terror attacks in the future.
The chief minister said security of the citizens is a top priority of the government and all efforts would be made for maintaining peace in the province.
CM Mahmood termed the recent bomb attack on madrassa in the provincial capital as an attempt to spoil the peaceful atmosphere in the province.
10% share in housing schemes for expats
Meanwhile, K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that the provincial government would allocate 10 per cent share in all its housing schemes for Pakistani expatriates.
He said this during a meeting with a delegation of overseas Pakistanis from UK. The delegation was led by Deputy Leader House of Common Afzal Khan on Thursday.
The chief minister lauded the role of Pakistani expats in promoting the soft image of the country abroad and strengthening the national economy. The incumbent government would take all steps to resolve the issues faced by the overseas, he added.
The provincial chief executive further said that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has offered a very conclusive environment for both local and foreign investors. “Incentives including exemption in taxes are being offered to attract the investors and to boost up the local economy,” he added.
The chief minister said that work on the establishment of various economic zones was in full swing and with the establishment of these economic zones, the province would become a hub of trade and economic activities.
Meanwhile, the chief minister on Saturday inaugurated Shamozai irrigation scheme and gas supply project to Matta and Khawzakhela area of Swat. The 21 kilometer-long Shamozai irrigation scheme which was completed at a cost of Rs0.90 billion will irrigate at least 5, 000 acres of land in Bagh Dheri, Sambar, Ashari, Khararai and other villages in Swat district.
