Elderly man’s body was floating in canal

DIJKOT:

At least two bodies were recovered near Samundri Road on Saturday.

The body of an elderly man was found in a canal.

Police fished out the body from the canal and started searching for the deceased’s family.

Police said a passerby informed them that the body of a 60-year-old man named Barish was found floating in the Rakh Branch canal passing near Samundari Road Chak No 280 RB.

Police reached the crime scene and fished out the body from the canal with the help of villagers and shifted it to a hospital.

Police highlighted that there were no marks on the body of the deceased and the body was four or five days old. Further investigation is underway.

Moreover, the body of a landlord who went missing four days ago was found in the bushes after being stabbed in the head with a sharp edged weapon by unknown persons.

Police handed over the body of the deceased to his heirs after taking necessary action. Police registered a case against the unidentified murderers and started searching for them.

The details revealed that 36-year-old Iftikhar Ahmed, a resident of Chak No 262 Rab on Samundari Road, went missing four days ago when he was going to irrigate his fields.

The body was found lying in the bushes near the fields and the villagers informed the police.

Police took the body of the deceased into their custody.
