ISLAMABAD:

The sub-committee of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to again hold departmental accounts committee meetings on all audit objections raised for the year 2017-18.

The panel also directed that all the relevant record be provided to the audit officials in the Departmental Audit Committee (DAC).

The panel of parliament’s PAC, which met under the chairmanship of convener Noor Alam Khan, reviewed the audit objections of the foreign ministry.

The committee convener expressed displeasure over the incomplete details in the audit brief.

He directed the foreign ministry to again hold departmental accounts committee meetings on all audit objections and provide the relevant record to the audit officials in the DAC and adjourned the session.

Earlier, a sub-committee of the PAC, which met under the chairmanship of convener Naveed Qamar, was supposed to review the interior ministry’s audit objections. However, the interior secretary could not attend the meeting.

On being inquired, the interior ministry officials informed the participants that the interior secretary had gone to attend a cabinet meeting.

The committee convener expressed his displeasure over the absence of the interior secretary and adjourned the session.
