A parliamentary delegation of Afghanistan on Sunday called on Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Security Dr Moeed Yusuf and discussed peace and security in Afghanistan and the region.
The 65-member delegation had arrived earlier during the day at Islamabad International Airport.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, Yusuf said, "Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan where relations between Islamabad and Kabul have improved under Prime Minister Imran Khan's government."
The Afghan parliamentary delegation appreciated Pakistan's efforts in Afghanistan's peace and stability. It also expressed hope for further improvement in trade relations and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Dr Moeed Yousuf extended his condolences to the Afghan delegation over the suicide attack on an educational institution in Kabul.
A suicide bombing at an education centre in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul killed at least 24 people and wounded dozens more on Saturday, officials said.
A Ministry of Interior spokesperson, Tariq Arian, cited security guards as identifying a bomber who detonated explosives in the street outside the Kawsar-e Danish educational centre.
