Prices should not be brought down at the cost of businesses, said the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Mian Tariq Misbah, Senior Vice President Nasir Hameed Khan and Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry in a statement.
They said the government should formulate a comprehensive strategy supportive of the industry in the post-Covid era and also help to reduce inflation. Due to consistent inflation, prices of basic commodities and utilities had touched new peaks, he said, adding these conditions had greatly contributed to the increase in cost of doing business that made lives of manufacturers and traders even more difficult.
The government should refrain from pressing the business community and take immediate steps, while taking all stakeholders into confidence, to control price hike.
