Sindh govt restores Covid-19 health risk allowance

Our Correspondent October 21, 2020

The Sindh government has decided to restore the Covid-19 health risk allowance, following a rise in coronavirus cases in the province, stated a notification issued by the Sindh finance department on Tuesday, while health workers continued to protest for the eighth day.

Though Grand Health Alliance (GHA) Sindh chapter chairperson Dr Mehboob Noorani welcomed the government’s moved, he said that the GHA would not call off its protest and demanded that health workers others demands should also be met.

The protest would continue until the GHA negotiated with the committee formed by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali and decided on a future course of action, he said.

Meanwhile, the protest on the GHA’s call continued for the eighth consecutive day with doctors, nurses and paramedic staff boycotting out-patient departments and operation theatres at government hospitals for other demands. This caused inconvenience for patients.
