The communique said that geo-strategic, regional and national security environment were discussed in the high-level moot.
“Forum undertook comprehensive review of the recent surge in terrorist incidents in the country particularly in tribal districts and Balochistan,” it added.
This month the attacks on security forces witnessed a surge in which at least 14 Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in separate incidents in tribal areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Paying glowing tribute to all civil and military Shuhada [martyrs] for their ultimate sacrifice, the forum concluded that “geographical/ideological frontiers of the country will be defended at all costs”.
“We have paid a very heavy price to achieve this peace and stability and any attempt to destabilise the country will be responded firmly, the ISPR quoted the General Qamar as saying.
