The metropolis is likely to witness strong winds and light rain today (Sunday), under the impact of a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea, the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted on Saturday.
As per the forecast, the system is likely to strengthen into a depression, causing winds to pick up speed in the city and light showers. Gales are expected to continue in the city until Monday.
Besides, the system is expected to lead to thunderstorms in Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Umerkot and Hyderabad.
The sea is also expected to remain rough during this time, with chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz warning fishermen against going into deep waters.
The PMD has also predicted dry weather in the city today, with mercury likely to go up to 38 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.6 degrees Celsius.
