PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday approved a pre-arrest bail for Captain (retired) Safdar Awan, the son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in assets beyond means case. Awan has been accused by the apex anti-graft watchdog, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of owning more assets than could be accrued through his known sources of income. He had approached the high court seeking pre-arrest bail, adding that he fears NAB will arrest him in the case even when he has been cooperating with the bureau in investigations.
