Police catch conman

A case was registered against the accused while further investigation was underway

RAWALPINDI:

Police on Saturday arrested a fraudster impersonating officer of an intelligence agency.

The suspect used to intimidate people, threatening to implicate them in cases and then take money to take them off the hook.

The alleged fraudster allegedly involved in cheating and looting people in the jurisdiction of Cantonment police station.

Acting on a tip-off by an informer, a police team was constituted under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) of Cantt police station arrested the fake officer.

The arrested suspect, identified as Sajjad Hussain, confessed to his involvement in several cases of cheating and looting people.

A case was registered against the accused while further investigation was underway.
