ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqat has directed the residents of different sectors to stockpile basic commodities before Sunday evening as they would be put under micro-lockdown.

A circular in this regard has been issued by the Islamabad administration on Saturday.

It said that several streets located in different sectors would be sealed off in the federal capital after a surge in coronavirus cases. The street number 38, 44, 45, 46, and 47 of Sector G-10/4, streets 25 and 28 of Sector I-8, and streets 85 and 89 of Sector G-9/4 would be shut down under the micro-lockdown policy.

The measure has been taken after the Islamabad District Health Officer Dr Zaeem Zia suggested the move through a letter to Islamabad DC.
