One shot dead in botched robbery

While offering resistance during a looting bid

A man was shot and killed, while another was injured in separate gunfire incidents in the city on Friday night. A man was gunned down by robbers for offering resistance during a looting bid in Laasi Goth in Sohrab Goth. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was identified as Usman, 22. According to Usman’s family, he owned a tyre shop at Power House Chowrangi and he was returning home from work at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, a man was injured when his firearm accidentally went off at Manghopir Road. The injured, identified as Ayaz, 25, was shifted to ASH for treatment. According to sources, the injured was a police officer who was deputed at the Pak Colony police station.
