PESHAWAR:

The provincial government has prepared a mega-development package for the Mohmand tribal district including the development of road infrastructure, health facilities and clean drinking water supply projects.

The development schemes have been prepared in collaboration with the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda).

This was disclosed during a meeting between Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Wapda Chairperson Muzzamil Hussain.

A statement issued in this regard on Thursday said that CM Mahmood will soon visit Mohmand where he will announce the package.

The Wapda chief further briefed the chief minister about the progress made on the construction of the Mohmand dam.

The chief minister said completion of the dam will usher in a new era of development and prosperity in the region.

K-P to expedite execution of approved projects

The provincial government has decided to expedite the execution of development projects outlined for the ongoing financial year.

In this regard, it has been decided that the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) will hold four meetings this month to ensure the approval and completion of development projects before the end of the financial year 2020-21.

Special Assistant to K-P chief minister on Information and Higher Education Kamran Bangash said this while briefing the media on the two-year performance of the K-P Planning and Development (P&D) Department on Thursday.

Bangash said that the past two years have been quite challenging for the planning department, however, with a comprehensive strategy, all challenges were overcome effectively.

The K-P planning and development department is the first institution in the country which has computerised its entire system by launching the Planning Commission Form Management System (PCFMS), he said.
