Qureshi thanks Emirati counterpart for taking care of Pakistanis during pandemic

Says Pakistan and UAE have deep, historic and fraternal ties

ISLAMABAD:

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a telephonic conversation on Thursday.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both the diplomats exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional situation and issues of common interest.

FM Qureshi underlined that Pakistan and UAE had deep, historic and fraternal ties. He added that millions of Pakistanis living in the UAE have been playing their part in building and developing the UAE for decades.

The diplomats discussed the current ongoing situation pertaining to the pandemic saying, “The two brotherly countries fully supported each other in every difficult hour including during Covid-19 pandemic,” read the MoFA statement.

Foreign Minister also thanked his Emirati counterpart for taking special care of Pakistani community in UAE during coronavirus pandemic.

The two foreign ministers further agreed to enhance bilateral ties and continue close collaboration on all issues of mutual interest.
