Covid-19 claims 8 more lives in Sindh
369 patients recovered from the coronavirus in the same duration
Sindh reported eight more fatalities and 298 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday. The provincial death toll rose to 2,531 while the total tally of confirmed cases stands at 138,891, according to a statement issued by the Sindh Chief Minister's House on the day.
Some 9,754 tests were conducted between Monday and Tuesday, said CM Murad Ali Shah, out of which 298 persons tested positive indicating a positivity rate of three per cent. Over half of the new cases were reported from Karachi.
Meanwhile, 369 patients recovered from the coronavirus in the same duration bringing the number of recoveries in Sindh to 131,831, according to Shah.
There are 4,529 coronavirus patients under treatment in the province, said Shah. Of these, 4,250 are in home isolation, six in isolation centres and 273 at different hospitals. At least 182 patients were stated to be in a critical state.
According to Shah, of the 298 new cases, 170 were detected in Karachi, 24 in Larkana, 13 in Kashmore, 12 in Hyderabad, nine in Jamshoro, seven in Matiari, three each in Dadu, Naushero Feroze and Sukkur, two each in Badin, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Shikarpur and Tando Allahyar, and one in Shaheed Benazirabad.
