Cloth and yarn worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes after a fire broke out in a cotton warehouse and factory due to a short circuit.

Rescue 1122 teams managed to extinguish the blaze after several hours of struggle.

The fire broke out in the wee hours of Thursday due to short circuit in Shafiq Factory located in Dive Road Panj Palian Faizabad area of Ghulam Mohammad Abad.

The blaze engulfed the clothes and other items in the factory.

The factory was engulfed with flames and smoke for six consecutive hours, after that a crew of six vehicles of Rescue 1122 managed to control the blaze.

The roof of the factory also collapsed due to the fire and clothes worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident a fire broke out in a cotton warehouse at Tata Bazaar Rahim Centre Lal Mill Chowk also due to a short circuit.

The flames completely engulfed the cotton lying in the warehouse.

Rescue officials evacuated the warehouses to control the fire.

Four vehicles of Rescue 1122 managed to extinguish the fire after hours of struggle.
