Sanitary workers get PPE

Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation hailed the sanitary workers for working diligently during the pandemic

The sanitary workers are just as dear to the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) as any other employee, said Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz urging them to take precautionary measures while performing duties amid the coronavirus situation. The threat of coronavirus has waned but not disappeared, the mayor said while addressing a ceremony held for the distribution of coronavirus protective kits among IMC Sanitary workers in Sector G-9/3 on Wednesday. He was accompanied by the Islamabad Deputy Mayor Zeeshan Naqvi and other related officials. Aziz said that they had distributed coronavirus kits among the workers during the pandemic peak and they were redoing it for protection of their employees. He hailed the sanitary workers for working diligently during the pandemic peak and said that everyone must implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) until the virus was eradicated. Aziz emphasised that the sanitary workers must protect themselves while performing duties. Later, the mayor visited the graveyard designated for the Christian community and examined the cleanliness situation. He directed to repair all dilapidated lights in the graveyard.
