The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) One-Window (SOW) has kick-started operation to provide prospective small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the easiest way to start a business.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, SOW offers free business registration services with the regulatory authorities including registration with the tax department, Employees Old-age Benefits Institution (EOBI) and Employees Social Security Institution.
“A majority of the startups and new ventures lost their energy and passion due to regulatory impediments and hectic process of business registration,” Smeda said in the statement.
“Therefore, the one-window programme has been designed in a way that people, intending to set up SMEs, can go through a hassle-free process for completing the whole set of legal and other requirements.”
The programme is aimed at reducing costs and increasing time efficiency to provide professional and technical services, the press release said.
According to the authority, the startups and existing SMEs can approach the Smeda provincial offices or its website to get the required services.
