Chadwick Boseman's co-star reveals he gave a portion of his pay to her

Sienna Miller, who starred alongside Boseman in '21 Bridges', said he did so to keep her on as co-producer

Chadwick Boseman’s 21 Bridges co-star Sienna Miller revealed that the late actor gave up a portion of his salary from the film to secure her as the co-producer, reported Variety.

Talking to Empire, Miller shared that the Black Panther star was a ‘fan of her work’ which was ‘reciprocated from me to him, tenfold’. “He offered me this film, and it was at a time when I really didn’t want to work anymore. I’d been working non-stop and I was exhausted, but then I wanted to work with him,” she shared, adding that she then asked for a salary for the big-budget film that the studio didn’t agree to.

“I said, ‘I’ll do it if I’m compensated in the right way.’ And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid,” revealed Miller.

Miller also shared that she hadn’t shared the story with anyone before this and that it was a testament to Boseman and his graciousness, something ‘hard to come by in the entertainment industry’.

“It’s just unfathomable to imagine another man in that town behaving that graciously or respectfully,” she told Empire. She also recounted another anecdote: “In the aftermath of this I’ve told other male actor friends of mine that story and they all go very quiet and go home and probably have to sit and think about things for a while.”

Boseman, 43, passed away on August 28 following a prolonged battle with colon cancer. Just last week, Disneyland unveiled a mural in Boseman’s honour.
