ANP leader condemns party functionary's 'abduction'

Awami National Party (ANP) President Asfandyar Wali Khan on Monday condemned the alleged abduction of the party's provincial information secretary, Asad Achakzai, from Balochistan after he went missing two days ago.

According to the ANP chief, Achakzai was on his way from Chaman to attend a provincial council meeting when all contact with him was lost near the town of Kuchlak.

Holding the government responsible, Asfandyar said it is the responsibility of the state is to protect its citizens and called on the authorities for Achakzai's prompt recovery.

ANP leader Amir Haider Khan Hoti also condemned the alleged kidnapping. The senior leader said that the 'kidnapping' of the provincial information secretary is reprehensible and such incidents are raising questions about security in the province.

Mian Ifthikhar Hussain also condemned Achakzai's alleged abduction and demanded that the government take action and recover the party functionary.

Asad Khan Achakzai is the cousin of ANP Balochistan President Asghar Khan Achakzai.
