ISLAMABAD:

To raise existing levels and to meet modern requirements, there is a dire need for revamping the International Islamic University Islamabad.

This was stated by International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) President Dr Hathal bin Hamoud Al-Otaibi while chairing a day-long Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis workshop at the Faisal Mosque campus.

Held as a preparatory exercise for devising the university’s strategic plan, Dr Al-Otaibi said that renewal of infrastructure, preparation of a strategic plan and academic excellence will be of prime focus. He further stressed upon a commitment to produce the best research and to further improve academic standards to make the varsity a leading university of the world in future.

For this purpose, he suggested that the university needs to be revamped.

“To meet contemporary requirements, we need to think outside of the box,” he said while assuring maximum support for furthering the matter. The IIUI president added that constructive thinking will be encouraged.

During the workshop, the deans presented a SWOT analysis of their respective faculties followed by a questions and answers session.
