Total cases of viral infection across Punjab exceeds 60

Punjab reported two more confirmed cases of dengue, one from Rawalpindi and the other from Toba Tek Singh during the last 24 hours.

A spokesperson for Punjab Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) indicated that the authorities reported 602 suspected dengue cases during the last 24 hours who were kept under surveillance and their medical tests were being conducted.

Since January, the total number of confirmed dengue cases reached 62 in the province.

However, 56 patients had been discharged after recovery and currently six patients were under treatment.

The spokesperson stated that no death because of dengue was reported this year due to effective measures taken by the government, adding that Punjab government was continuously working against dengue across the province.

The anti-dengue staff recovered dengue larvae from 1,104 places during the last seven days.

While the threat of the coronavirus disease was not over yet, the mosquito-borne viral infection had started to raise its head across Punjab.
