Covid-19 kills six more in Sindh

Taking the province's death toll to 2,492

KARACHI:

Six more patients succumbed to the coronavirus overnight in the province, taking Sindh's death toll to 2,492, shared Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday.

He further apprised that 9,700 samples were tested on the day, of which 251 turned out to be positive for Covid-19, taking the virus tally to 136,017 in Sindh to date.

Shah stated that there were currently 3,772 active coronavirus cases in the province, of which 3,493 were quarantined at home, 271 were being treated at hospitals and six were in isolation centres. He added that 158 patients were in critical condition, of whom 19 were on ventilators.

On the other hand, 207 people recovered from the contagious disease between Saturday and Sunday, pushing the number of recoveries in Sindh to 129,753.

He further stated that of the freshly detected coronavirus cases, 185 belonged to Karachi alone. Moreover, Hyderabad and Badin saw seven cases each, Jacobabad five, Jamshoro four, Dadu three, Larkana and Tando Allahyar two each, and Ghotki, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sujawal and Sukkur one case apiece.
