LAHORE:

One of the only two survivors of the tragic Pakistan International Airline (PIA) crash Zafar Masud, who is the current chief executive officer of the Bank of Punjab travelled in a PIA flight for the first time on Saturday after the accident.

He travelled on PIA flight PK 304 from Karachi to Lahore. At Jinnah International Airport, Masud was welcomed by PIA Chief Financial Officer Khalilullah Shaikh and Chief Technical Officer and Head of Engineering Amir Ali.

PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik travelled especially from Islamabad to receive the distinguished guest on the flight at Lahore.

He welcomed Masud from the doorstep and pulled his wheelchair out.

Masud said he had a pleasant feeling while travelling in PIA and told The Express Tribune that it was one of the smoothest landings he has ever experienced.

He praised the captain and the PIA team for extending love and hospitality.

Malik expressed gratitude to Masud and said, “PIA feels indebted by Zafar’s support, patronage and confidence in the airline.”

He maintained that PIA will strive hard to meet Masud’s expectations and will overcome all the challenges.
