26 tolas of gold seized from alleged gang of stealing maids

Police team also recovered artificial jewelry and other valuables worth Rs3 million from them

ISLAMABAD:

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad claimed to have arrested an alleged gang of women involved in stealing valuables from the houses where they worked in in guise of maids.

CIA also claimed recovering gold jewellery weighing almost 26 tolas and other valuables worth Rs3 million from them. One tola of gold is worth over Rs116,000.

According to an official statement, CIA team including ASI Rana Tasneem and others arrested eight women involved in ransacking houses after being employed there as maids. The suspects have been identified as Nazia, Kiran, Asima, Sughram Sharat, Shehnaz, Saadia and Ghazala.

Police team also recovered 26 tola gold ornaments, artificial jewelry and other valuables worth Rs3 million from them.
