Two confirmed cases of dengue were reported in the provincial capital during the last 24 hours. According to a spokesperson for Punjab Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) on Friday, 755 suspect cases of the mosquito-borne viral infection were reported in the province and their tests were being conducted. So far 58 cases of dengue had been confirmed from January so far this year in Punjab. However, 53 patients were discharged after recovery and currently five patients were under treatment. The spokesperson claimed that no death due to dengue was reported this year due to effective measures taken by the government, adding that Punjab government was continuously working against dengue in the region. The anti-dengue staff recovered dengue larvae from 3,719 places during the last seven days. The P&SHD urged citizens to adopt precautionary measures and keep their environment clean and dry to protect themselves from dengue.
