Did Ranveer Singh ask to join wife’s drug probe?

Earlier reports claimed actor requested to join Deepika’s interrogation because of her 'anxiety, panic attacks'

According to recent reports, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh had asked the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) if he could attend his wife Deepika Padukone’s drug probe, said India TV.

In his application, the actor had allegedly stated that Padukone suffers from anxiety and sometimes gets panic attacks. Hence, he should be granted permission to be with her, reported the outlet.

However, the NCB has now clarified that it has not received any such request, written or verbal, from Singh, according to the Hindustan Times. It was widely reported on Friday that the 83 actor had sought permission from the agency to be present during Padukone’s questioning session on Saturday, citing ‘anxiety’ issue. Singh had apparently said that his wife has anxiety issues and suffers from panic attacks.

A report in India Today, quoted NCB officials, who said, “There are questions whether Ranveer Singh is joining the investigation with Deepika Padukone. We confirm that we have not received any such request from any summoned person. The last email received from the concerned summoned person is only regarding joining the investigation.”

The Bajirao Mastani actor, who was in Goa to shoot for Shakun Batra’s next along with Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi, returned on Thursday accompanied by her husband. She along with other actors from Bollywood, including Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh have been summoned by the NCB over alleged drugs nexus in Bollywood.

As per another report by Times Now, 39 additional names have also made their way to the agency’s scanner, among which, 20 are from the television industry. These names are in the 16/20 FIR, which is directly linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.

Nevertheless, actor Rakul Preet Singh and Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash would be joining Padukone’s investigation on Friday, an NCB official had said earlier in the day. Khan, who was also in Goa, reached Mumbai with her mother, actor Amrita Singh and brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan around 5pm.

Reportedly, around 60 to 70 names are with NCB at the moment, and every suspect is being observed at the moment to find out if they have any links to the drug angle presented by Rhea Chakarboty.
