Salman Khan willing to cut down his fee for 'Bigg Boss 14'
Actor and host said he is happy to slash his fee so others can get paid amid the pandemic
There's no denying Covid-19 has taken a massive toll on the livelihood of several around the world, including India. And as Bigg Boss (BB) makers gear up for the 14th season of the show, salaries have become a major concern for everyone on the set and behind the screens, according to Pinkvilla.
Thus, actor and host Salman Khan in a press conference on September 24, talked about the pandemic and the effects it had on people’s jobs in the entertainment industry.
The Dabangg star then asked the sponsors if they have been paying their employees well. And although the sponsors replied in the positive, Khan readily said, "I am happy to take a pay cut as long as others are paid well."
Recent reports confirmed that Khan’s payment per episode had surged, with the makers willing to pay him an extra 200 million per episode, just to make sure he continues hosting. With that fee hike, his new remuneration shot to INR85 million per episode, meaning that he would now take home a hefty sum of INR2 billion for the entire season.

Nevertheless, Bigg Boss 14, which will premiere from October 3, is now coming with some amazing surprises for both its audience and contestants. The Bigg Boss house will have an in built movie theatre, gym, spa, restaurant corner and even a shopping mall which will be accessible to the participants.
While fans are eagerly waiting for the show to take over their TV screens, rumours about it being scripted had also reignited recently. During the launch of Bigg Boss 14, Khan addressed the reports and stated that nothing is scripted and the contestants are not allowed to leave the show's premises until evicted.
“There is a misconception that contestants are allowed to come out of the house in between, that is not true. The contestant only leaves the house when they get eliminated. You cannot script anyone, neither Siddharth Shukla, Shehnaaz Gill, Hina Khan, nor Gauahar Khan,” he added.
