PESHAWAR:

The granddaughter and the great-granddaughter of former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt and first lady Eleanor Roosevelt held an interactive virtual discussion with the students of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s University (SBBWU).

Anne Roosevelt and Tracy Roosevelt spoke virtually to students gathered in the Eleanor Roosevelt Corner Peshawar (ERCP) at the SBBWU. Outgoing US Consul General Sebron CB Toney, his successor Greg Macris and the Public Affairs Officer Kahina Robinson participated in the virtual conference.

The Roosevelt family remains active around the world working to increase positive outcomes in areas such as education, law, business, health, and democracy.

The SBBWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Razia Sultana said that SBBWU is the only public sector women’s university in Peshawar having a partnership with the ERCP. “It is a matter of privilege to be hosting an event to shed light on the life of the First Lady who advocated for the role of women in the workplace and played an instrumental role in the protection of human rights,” said Dr Sultana.
