Multan division Commissioner Javed Akhtar Mahmood on Thursday expressed annoyance over the performance of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) following social media furor over polio vaccinators passing through sewage in streets to immunise children. The commissioner ordered WASA to drain out water from Pir Colony and other areas immediately, stressing that polio workers are ‘heroes’ and their services are commendable, said an official release. He added, “Our sisters who perform duty of immunising kids against poliovirus are our pride and all of us must support polio workers who are performing a duty of national importance”.
