Oman to resume international flights on Oct. 1
Domestic flights will also reopen between Muscat-Salalah after 6-month break as part of coronavirus measures
MUSCAT:
Oman will resume international flights in October after a six-month suspension to stem the spread of coronavirus, authorities announced on Thursday.
"The Oct. 1 will be the date to resume international flights to the Sultanate," the Omani News Agency (OA) quoted Transport Minister Saeed bin Hamoud al-Maawali as saying.
He also added that domestic flights will also reopen between the capital Muscat and the southern city of Salalah on the same date.
On March 24, the Omani authorities halted all international and local flights in the sultanate's airports as part of coronavirus measures.
Until Thursday, Oman registered 95,907 coronavirus infections, including 885 deaths and 86,765 recoveries.
