Last month, Sonu Nigam made headlines when he praised Nescafe Basement's popular track, Bol Hu. The celebrated Bollywood playback singer lauded aspiring singer Hadia Hashmi and band Soch for the song and Xulfi for the brilliant composition. Sonu's love was reciprocated by the band, Hashmi and former EP frontman.

Now, the Kal Ho Naa Ho singer has once again taken to social media and shared a heartfelt message for another one of Pakistan's famous musicians. Sonu posted a few throwback pictures from March when he met Sajjad Ali for the first time.

Sharing three photos from the meetup, the Deewana crooner wrote, "This picture is from March 19 when Adel Farooq took us to check and assess Atif Ali's studio for the first digital live concert that we eventually did on March 22."

Talking about who he crossed paths with the Tum Naraz Ho singer, Sonu went on to add, "Incidentally one of the most respected singers and musicians of all times, and my personal favourite Sajjad Ali Bhai was there too with his son."

The Bijuriya singer penned Sajjad waited till he arrived so "we may meet for the first time in our lives. And then we chatted for an hour and a half. Sharing some memorable pictures of that beautiful evening."

Sonu revealed how one of Sajjad's songs was covered by the former's singer as well. "For people who don't know, his Katna Nai is one of my family's most favourite songs and so was covered by my exceptionally talented sister, Teesha Nigam," he continued, "But before that, I wanted to go about it absolutely respectfully and thus I called Sajjad Bhai to seek his permission for the same. It was very, very gracious of him to not just give us permission for the same but not even charge for it! That's called true graciousness."

Grateful for his kind words, the Cinderella singer thanked Sonu on social media. "It was a great pleasure meeting you too Sonu Nigam - One of the most sureela singers of our time," he shared.
