Man loses sight after wife’s acid attack

The police have registered a case and started the investigation

A man reported has lost his eyesight after he suffered an acid attack from his wife over a domestic quarrel. The incident occurred within the remits of the Jatli police station on Tuesday. Ghulam Asghar told police that he had fought with his wife earlier. Later, when he was resting in the room, she came up to him and threw acid on his face. As a result, he lost his eyesight. Asghar said that his wife then fled with Rs0.1 million in cash - which he had earned after selling some of his cattle - and seven tolas of gold, over half of which he had purchased for his sister’s wedding. The police have registered a case and started the investigation.
