Medical entry test on October 18, admission forms not printed

In a first, prospective medical students in Sindh will be appearing for entry tests prior to submitting admission forms to their choice of institutions, it was reported on Monday.

This is due to the delay in the printing of admission forms, even as relevant authorities fix October 18 for conducting entry test for admission to public and private medical colleges and universities across Sindh.

Besides, keeping in view the current situation, authorities have relaxed the eligibility criteria, allowing students with a minimum of 65 per cent marks in intermediate to appear for the test. Previously, only students with a score of 70 per cent or above qualified to sit the test. Moreover, the applicants are required to only produce their intermediate part-II results to be allowed to sit the test, which will be conducted by Peoples Medical University, Nawabshah.

This year, 1,150 seats in government-run medical and dental colleges have been reserved for students having Karachi’s domicile.
