Veteran actor Shaan Shahid has been very vocal about legends of the Pakistani entertainment industry getting all the respect they are due. In his most recent take on the subject, Shahid expressed sorrow over the late Noor Jehan's house becoming a plaza.
"Madam Noor Jehan's house has become a plaza, sad our legends don't deserve it,' he wrote on Twitter.
Madam Noor jahans house has become a plaza ... sad our legends deserve it to

However, actor and writer Vasay Chaudhry disagreed with Shahid's sentiments, pointing out that the legendary singer had sold the house out of her own will. "She Sold that house out of her own will ,whereas the other house in question is a totally different story," Chaudhry said in the tweet.

Meanwhile, the Waar actor reacted to this by suggesting that her house should've been turned into a museum instead. "The government should have paid for her house and made it a madam Noor Jehan museum," Shahid wrote.
The govt should have paid for her house and made it a madam Noor jehan museum..

According to Chaudhry though, that too would be unnecessary. "I disagree sir, The government commemorated her with Civil awards and other accolades in her lifetime. It was her private property and buying her house (especially when she was not even in the need for money) doesn't make sense, given the economic situation of our country," Choudhry said.
