Fighting for women’s rights: 21-year-old winner aspires to become a lawyer in G-B
She completed against 1,900 people of all ages, as there was no age restriction, and stood first.
“My accomplishment has made me and my family proud and I hope the President of Pakistan acknowledges my achievement and gives me the pride of performance award to encourage me,” the 21-year-old Mir from Sultanabad, an underdeveloped area of Gilgit, told The Express Tribune.
For her achievement, she was awarded Rs500,000 by the Prime Minister, but the G-B government is yet to take notice of her achievements. She believes the government should encourage youngsters to work hard and take initiative.
“G-B students are very talented, they only need exposure and the resources to explore their hidden skills,” she said.
She added there are very few educational facilities in G-B, and there is no separate women’s university.
She believes her plans of following a career in law are in line with the deplorable conditions she considers women to be in.
She says they are facing numerous challenges, “These women are yet to get justice as far as their rights are concerned and for that they need women judges, lawyers and women right leaders to boost their morale.”
She has received a six year scholarship at People’s Law College in Hawaii, Los Angeles.
She plans to pursue a degree in International Law and aspires to become a Judge in Gilgit after completing her studies. She is currently pursuing her BA in Margalla College and completed F.Sc from Army Public School in Gilgit.
Mir describes herself as an ardent reader and said she writes on different topics to sharpen her writing skills.
She is the eldest of the three daughters and two sons of Mir Baz Khan, a businessman. Baz, who shifted to Islamabad for his children’s education, said that he always encourages his daughter to take part in extra-curricular activities alongside her studies.
He wants his daughter to become a lawyer and serve the women in G-B.

I know her personally...all she have is fake degrees except that "English Essay Writing comptetion "... i haved looked her all certificates and none of them is real ..and trust me I was shocked when i saw her certificates... She is not even that much good in English she scored 40 marks in her college exams which were held In margalla college
@karima @mir please tell me that do people of Baluchistan are living with 100% literacy, they are not deprived........ look every one in Pakistan is facing same problems, stop calling your self a GB, people of GB are living better life than balochi people ............ now plz don't say that they are eating pizza every day ............
( every women getting scholarship is fighting for women rights ) , i have scholarship and i am from Baluchistan, but it doesn't mean that my getting scholarship is my fight for the rights of balochi's ....
KARIMA, thats was a good answer. We the people of GB have been systematically deprived of our basic rights, right to education, right to better health. I salute saeeda for her achievement. we are proud of her.

More than 60+ years of deprivation , access to law and justice ,rule by a puppet Kashmir affairs minister
No access basic necessities of life ,health + education
Fulling sectarian violence among peaceful sections of society , read what happened in 1988 if you have access to facts and figures
Calling G-B part of the Kashmir , while we fought with India in 1948 and got self Independence (while Kashmirs waited for miracles )

If that doctor of law could become Law Minister, I don't see any reason that Mir could not become a judge with her international law degree.She is talented and she could become anything she wants to be.Congrats to you Ms.Mir, good luck in your fature.

miss zohra, actually broad mindedness is not to become a fashionable,showing their body parts..but its the act how you interact with others by maintaining our religious values..if a female wants to fragrance by resembling her a flower then their should be higher risk for males to involve to the flower by immorally..

Moreover, winning the book writing competition is a great achievement but claiming pride of performance is a bit weird.
The prospect of a six-year scholarship is quite tempting but PCL is an unaccredited Law School. I am not sure if it should matter much to Miss Mir since she plans to return back and work in Pakistan.

There seems to be something fishy here. The International Book Writing Competition is not really a professional competition.
Secondly, the People's Law College in LA is an unaccredited college with persons clearing the state bar exam at only 10%.
The newspapers should further verify this story.
